Winter Solstice Forest Bathing
Sunday, December 21, 2025 (1:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (EST)
Description
“Into the Deep…” Here in December we feel the movement of Earth swiftly sinking into the darkest time of the year. In this gathering darkness we sense the Stillness and Silence available at this time of year like no other. The Winter Solstice–this year on Sunday, December 21st–the shortest day, and the longest night offers a unique opportunity to be in Nature. We are invited to share an experience of radical simplicity to experience this great turning from dark into light at a special place in the Hickory Nut Gorge: “Laughing Waters” Retreat Center. Mattie Decker, Nature and Forest Therapy Guide will offer a special Solstice retreat including Mindfulness Meditation and Forest Therapy (“Shinrin Yoku” in the Japanese) in this pristine setting along the flowing waters of the Hickory Nut Creek. You may register here at ConservingCarolina.org For more information contact Mattie at drmattie.decker@gmail.com or 828-333-3508. Please bring a journal or paper and pen, a water bottle and a yoga mat or blanket. Let us remember Gratefulness and Generosity as our core practice.
